Our Meetings

About

• We meet in the Royal British Legion Hall, Letcombe Hill, East Challow (near Wantage), OX12 9RP

• On every 1st available Monday, barring Bank Holidays. Meet in the British Legion Bar from 11.00 am for a drink (extra to lunch payment) followed by lunch from 12.15pm to approx. 2:30pm

• Lunch payment to the Treasurer, is £22.00 per meal, made in the Lobby Area on arrival (NB Payments to the treasurer may now be made by credit or debit card and this is much more convenient for the treasurer than handling cash.)

• Collect a brass token which allows each member to sit in a different place every club lunch meeting.

• Proceed to the Dining Hall when the Secretary rings the hand bell

• Stand behind the seat which has the same green token number as your brass token

• Bow your head while the Chairman asks grace on the lunch and club activities

• Sit down and engage in conversation with your nearest club members

• The Chairman will make some introductory remarks – numbers present, guest speaker, new member

• Eat the three course meal which is served – main course, dessert and cheese & biscuits

• Be upstanding for the loyalty toast – the Queen and Probus Club

• Presentation by the guest speaker, followed by questions and answers

• Thanks for the presentation, followed by the guest speaker selecting a red prize token for a bottle of wine

• Chairman closes the session, asking everyone to return brass & green tokens to the top table, glasses to the bar
