Wantage Probus Club
Originally emanating from Rotary, it is a social club for men of retirement age from a professional or business background. Our club in the Wantage catchment area has been going strong since its founding in 1975. The intention is to provide a network of friends and associates, who in their later years can share some time with like-minded men, from a range of different back grounds. We meet on the 1st available Monday of each month at the Royal British Legion Hall, Letcombe Hill, East Challow near Wantage. See Location for directions.

Speaker Programme
We have a planned programme of speakers throughout the year, who provide us with material that educates and entertains us, with each presentation lasting from 30 to 40 minutes. A three course meal, costing £22, is served prior to the guest speaker commencing his/her presentation. The meetings start at 12:15pm and finish at approximately 2:30pm.

Events Programme
In addition to the monthly meetings, we aim to organise two or three trips per year, usually hiring a coach for distant destinations. They normally involve visits to places of outstanding natural beauty or of historical interest. Past events have included Nuffield Place, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and Salisbury Cathedral. See the Events page for more details.

Probus Standards
The main purpose is to create a place where good fellowship can be fostered. We honour each other by dressing appropriately for each occasion. Lunch dress code is a smart suit or jacket and trousers, preferably with a tie. Name badges are provided after joining, and are worn at the lunch meetings.

A membership directory with facial photographs is provided in the "Members'  Area"Tab of this website, and the club constitution is provided in the "About "Tab. Both of these tabs are to be found underneath the Wantage Probus Club Banner at the top of the home main home page.
